Usually a romance between a Dutch doctor or professor and an English young lady. There is always some type of conflict that has to be settled before the happily ever after. The 2 stories in this book is amazing and romantic I have enjoyed every book that I have read by these authors
Even though I know Betty Neels is no longer with us I have to say thanks again for such a loving romantic story.
As usual, Betty Neels writes a light, but good romance. Great bedtime reading. Easy to take to read anywhere for enjoyment.
Betty Neels novels are my favorites and was I delighted to find one I hadn't read. I didn't expect much from the second book, but found I really loved Liz Fielding's writing. I will definitely look for more of her work!
As Betty Neels fans know, she used several general plots repeatedly, with only the details varying somewhat. I have all of her books that can be bought for , currently about 130. This book is typical of hers, no surprises, but enjoyable light reading. She did have a habit of using a particular adjective, or a 2-3 word descriptive phrase, two or three times in very close proximity - next paragraph, or same paragraph, sometimes within one or two sentences. That's always bugged me - there are a dozen synonyms to describe just about anything in English, for pity sake! But obviously that hasn't stopped me from buying and enjoying her stories, so if you've read and liked others of her books, expect more of the same here.
Both are nice, but the first story ends abruptly. I was disappointed. The second story feels complete. Both were enjoyable.
Betty Neels is always light-hearted fun with sweet heroines and smart heroes. Her books are a nice change of pace from even other writers from Harlequin's Romance line, and definitely from their Presents line.
