Wild Card Billionaire Bachelors Book 3 edition by Lila Monroe Contemporary Romance eBooks

Up to this point, I’ve enjoyed the books in this series, this one was not my favorite.

Olivia is used to being the one dealing out the matches, and setting up the dates. But when the boss needs a sexy, impressive date to take to her dads wedding, she turns to her most difficult client, ex football star, Ryan Callahan. It just so happens he is also in need of a companion to accompany him to a business meeting. He has gone through her entire list of possible dates and, for one reason or another turned them all down. Now they have the opportunity to do each other a favor.

In reading the first two books, I always pictured Olivia as being an older woman. Maybe it was her crisp, no nonsense business style that screamed middle age to me. It was nice to see her outside of the office, letting her hair down and relaxing a bit. Acting her age. It was obvious she loved her dad and was willing to put up with a lot for him.
Ryan was not your “typical” jock. He was kind and smart. At first not sure he wanted to spend any time with the uptight, cold Olivia. But take these two out of their comfort zones, and strip away their preconceived notions, and they realize their chemistry is off the charts.

What I didn’t care for was the obvious bullying by Vanessa (the dads fiancée/Olivia’s ex college roommate). And the way her dad and even Ryan at times laughed the incidents off. No one seemed to notice or care how she was being treated. I was glad when Hallie (from book one) showed up. At least she had a female confidant to talk to about Vanessa. Someone to finally have her back.

Overall not a bad book. It was a quick read, told from both characters points of view. No cheating, and it does have a happy ending.
I will continue reading the series.

Lila Monroe has done it again with Wild Card. It’s a fantastic read with laugh out loud moments & characters that suck you in with their story. Wild Card by Lila Monroe is the third book in her quirky Billionaire Bachelors series. Starring the matchmaker herself, Olivia, and one of her more difficult clients, this book focuses on how Ryan finally gets his perfect match and Olivia learns what it is to fall in love on the job.

Olivia has the best job - exclusive matchmaker - but when she has a client she is completely unable to match up with a girl, she has take on the challenge of Ryan herself. It's perfect timing though as she also needs a date for her fathers wedding. Two birds one really hot retired football player.

Ryan has been waiting for Olivia's matchmaking service to find him the right girl for what feels like forever. Her type of matchmaking is one that is for appearances only. Need a date for fundraisers, check. Need a date for a family wedding to avoid their matchmaking, check. But he needs a specific, savvy type of women to give him some steadfast credibility for upcoming business meetings. What eh really wants is Olivia and no one else will do. Good thing she is now searching for a date for her fathers wedding.

Well-written, well-paced and another fabulous, quirky, funny, steamy and romantic read from one of my favorite authors - enjoy!
I’ve enjoyed every single one of Lila Monroe’s romantic comedies that I’ve read, and I’ve read quite a few of them. She effortlessly blends together heat and humor, keeping her plots low on the angst and drama to achieve a light-hearted, easy-reading romance. One of the things I love most about Monroe’s writing style is how she pulls me right there into it with vivid descriptions and interesting details. She brings all of this together with imaginative storylines, fun side characters and sexy romances that result in entertaining reading experiences.

Wild Card is the third book in her Billionaire Bachelors series, and I’ve been looking forward to this book since the tease at the end of Hot Daddy. Monroe’s spin on the fake boyfriend genre is pretty much everyone’s worst nightmare with the heroine’s father preparing to marry her college nemesis. Olivia has made an appearance in both of the first two books of this series as the owner of the discreet, high end, date-for-hire service that paired up the previous two couples, but Wild Card is a standalone and it’s not necessary to read those books to enjoy this one.

Olivia has been working with the super picky, hard-to-please, former pro-football player, Ryan, to secure a classy, educated, entertaining, beautiful woman to be at his side during some important business negotiations. Olivia prides herself on her success rate, but she’s running out of options for him. Meanwhile, she needs a date for her father’s wedding, and it just so happens to be the same week as Ryan’s meetings in a nearby locale. The idea forms, and Olivia agrees to be his plus-one if he’ll be hers. What they didn’t expect, though, was the attraction between them and the fact that what they thought they knew of each other from their previous dealings wasn’t exactly accurate. There was no fighting this kind of chemistry, and it was quite a ride as business turned to pleasure between the two of them.

Laugh-out-loud funny and fanning myself sexy, Wild Card by Lila Monroe was a whole lot of fun to read and gets 4.5 smooches from me!
