I have read several of Mr, Coelho's books and have enjoyed them all. This one is short stories and while I really enjoyed most of them some of them - I at least - could do without. Still a very good read and worth the money.
I will continue to my next Coelho book!

Good if you want to just pick up and read here and there without concentrating on a story line.
The book was purchased as a present and did not turn up after the due date. World of Books USA accepted the problem, resent the book and this did arrive. The recipient sent a note to us that says ".. thank you for "Like the Flowing River". I just got it yesterday and have read a few pages. It is clear already that I will thoroughly enjoy this book! I love the short story format and their messages. I am looking forward to reading more tonight and ... every time I pick it up.
Coelho has such great insight into life. His writing conveys so much wisdom and food for thought that each of the stories is inspirational.
Some more than others , but none the less you begin to feel his connection with God and nature after reading his words
Contrary to the reviews of the people...I might differ on this one! I found this an ok read...little spiritual...though I must compliment the author for bringing certain thoughts that we might have encountered at some point of time and penning it down quite superbly.

Having said that...the book has certain chapters which are beautifully written and my favourites being

The importance of repetition
The story of pencil
How to climb mountains
Genghis khan and his falcon
Manuel is an important man
Travelling differently
The importance of cat in meditation
The story of sand and dune
The third passion
Paulo never dissappoints. I recommend his books (because i'm currently on my 4th) to someone who is spiritual or looking for a different perspective in their lives. It's for the deep thinkers out there! This book inparticular has several short stories so it's easy to just pick up and read in between breaks at work or during your lunch. Enjoy!
I love this Paulo Coelho collection in one book Like the Flowing River Thoughts and Reflections. You see, I am a person who loves inspiration in my day every day. I love to concentrate on the good and be grateful, and I am grateful for this book. Paulo Coelho you did it again. And thanks for the great service by the seller. Awesome.
Absolutely love this book!! So glad I was able to find it. I've been looking for it since apparently it is a hard to find book. One of the best of Paulo Coelho's works.
